Arc Legal Assistance has responded to the recent FSA focus into the selling of add-on products by general insurance providers, in particular the distribution of Motor Legal Expenses Insurance (MLEI), by producing a paper that outlines the benefits of MLEI in comparison to other non-fault motor claims models in the market.
The paper details the benefits of Before-the-Event (BTE) MLEI in comparison to Conditional Fee Agreements (CFA) and After-the-Event (ATE) Legal Expenses Insurance, both now and following major changes to the legal system, such as the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act (LASPO), Qualified One-Way Costs Shifting (QOCS) and Damages Based Agreements (DBAs), all due to be implemented in 2013.
The paper details in full the effect that changing legislation will have on the motor personal injury market, and highlights how MLEI will continue to offer a far superior level of cover in comparison to the CFA/DBA/ATE model post-LASPO.
