FORGING AHEAD IN 2022: FURTHER DEVELOPMENT AND SIGNIFICANT WINS ON THE HORIZON

2021. Another year that we might find it difficult to look back on fondly. The headlines last year reflected a turbulent twelve months; the ongoing global pandemic and emergence of new variants and supply chain disruptions to name but a few.

But for all this, 2021 was also a year of innovation and progress, scientists fully connected a human brain to a computer, offering hope for those with spinal injuries, the first 3D printed school was unveiled in Malawi, a fifth ocean was officially designated around Antarctica and SpaceX launched the first all-civilian crew into space.

Wherever we encounter challenges, we also discover opportunities, and last year certainly presented many of those.

Turning to the insurance industry, it is perhaps no surprise that 2021 was a relatively quiet period as companies continued to navigate the challenges of Covid-19 and the hard market.

Forging ahead

For us, it was a busy year. We enjoyed a period of expansion and growth as we fully integrated Composite Legal Expenses into our business in March and completed the acquisition of Legal Insurance Management (LIM) in August. In addition, we can now offer Accident & Health (A&H) insurance as part of our product portfolio in partnership with AmTrust Underwriting Ltd (AUL), AmTrust’s A&H MGA business.

The products provided by these businesses, along with their skilled teams are a perfect complement to our existing legal expenses offering, enabling us to provide a much broader suite of legal expenses and ancillary solutions to our clients. We were also pleased to see a significant increase in premium income as a result of our focus on increasing the range of products and services we can offer to customers.

Watch this space

Looking ahead to the next twelve months, I’m pleased to say that we will not be resting on our laurels. We have a number of exciting developments and announcements planned for 2022.

Over the next few weeks, we will complete a project to bring the majority of our Legal Helpline in-house which will enable us to take greater control over the provision of expert legal advice to our customers.

To supplement this, we have also developed a new digital interface to enable customers to access legal advice, guidance, and documents online. This development builds on our market-leading Online Claims Portal that provides customers with the ability to interact with us throughout the whole claims process digitally. Traditional methods of communication will still be available, and our customers will still be able to reach us via telephone or email if they prefer.

A new Arc Legal…

We will shortly be introducing you to a new-look Arc Legal. With the integration of Composite, the acquisition of LIM and access to AUL’s A&H range of products, we can offer a one-stop-shop for legal expenses and ancillary solutions, from ATE and BTE legal expenses products, to Home Emergency, Accident & Health and Travel, all delivered by knowledgeable teams who understand the markets in which they operate, continually innovating to meet the ever-changing needs of today’s customer.

We’re excited to unveil our new identity, but rest assured, the customer-first ethos that drives our team remains unchanged.

Our Family Legal Expenses Insurance product have been attracting attention from some major players, it’s a highly competitive area of the market and one that we’re perfectly positioned to serve… Watch this space for some significant deals.
