Richard Finan of Arc Legal says that the After the Event (ATE) market has lost sight of its role trying to address the gap in accessing justice. The impact of claims management companies ‘capturing’ claimants and signing them up to ATE policies where BTE policies already exist has turned it into a revenue generator.

Consumers need more education on BTE cover to ensure they are aware of what they already have access to.
