ARC LEGAL’S SUMMER FUNDRAISING FOR PAPYRUS

We have had a busy summer of fundraising here at Arc Legal, hosting and participating in a number of events to raise funds for Papyrus, our staff-chosen charity for 2018.

First up was a staff 6-aside football tournament, consisting of 4 teams all competing for bragging rights! Competition was fierce, but there could only be one winner, although it was the taking part that counted, with entry costs going towards the fundraising pot.

The Arc Legal 2018 Summer Fete took place in late July that saw staff, family and friends competing in hula hoop endurance tests, a tiny table tennis tournament, difficult duck dipping and a creative origami competition. Another event to encourage some friendly competition between colleagues!

Finally, in the KAPOW! Challenge, which took place locally in Colchester Castle Park, two teams of 10 Arc staff members ran through foam, up and over inflatable obstacles plus much more besides all to raise as many donations as possible!

The summer fundraising took our total raised for Papyrus to over £2,500. We hope to add to this amount during the rest of 2018, so keep an eye out for our autumn and winter activity in Q4 newsletter.

The money we have raised so far will help train 30 members of the community to identify a person at risk of suicide, as well as delivering 5 mental health and suicide awareness sessions.
