ARC LEGAL APPOINTED AS FIRST LEGAL EXPENSES PROVIDER FOR BRITISH TRANSPORT POLICE FEDERATION

Arc Legal Assistance (Arc Legal) has been appointed as the first provider of a bespoke legal expenses insurance (LEI) scheme to the British Transport Police Federation.

The coverage is the first of its kind to be provided by the British Transport Police Federation for its 2,500 members.

The cover funds representation of members subject to allegations that fall outside of support provided by the police federation. This includes legal costs relating to criminal and civil proceedings, contractual disputes relating to goods and services, pursuing personal injury claims, and advice and representation at interviews under caution and at disciplinary hearings. Arc Legal’s cover for criminal defence has  been expanded under the scheme to include allegations arising from historic incidents, provided the allegation first comes to light after the insurance has started.

The policy is underwritten by AmTrust Europe Limited.

The British Transport Police Federation scheme continues Arc Legal’s partnership with George Burrows, a leading provider of group insurance to police federations and part of the Arthur J. Gallagher group.
