After weathering the storm of Covid-19 – another challenge lies over the horizon for landlords and letting agents.
The Government is expected to publish a specific Levelling-Up White Paper on the private rented sector this spring, and with it, a likely removal of Section 21 of the Housing Act 1988, which allows landlords and agents to legally evict tenants at the end of tenancy.
Without this, landlords will have to rely on breach of tenancy agreement, potentially leading to costly legal fees and protracted battles to recover their income.
