ARC LEGAL PUTS BOUNCE INTO FUNDRAISING FOR ESSEX HEADWAY

Colchester based Arc Legal Assistance (Arc Legal), a specialist provider of legal expenses insurance, is supporting trampoline therapy sessions for people in Essex with acquired brain injuries.

The company’s corporate and social responsibility programme called ‘Arc Angels.’ is supporting Headway Essex, the brain injury charity, so 20 people will be able to have vital weekly therapeutic sessions at Bounceability, a special needs trampoline centre in Colchester, Essex.

Arc Angels was launched by the Colchester-based company in 2008, and has since raised thousands of pounds to support the fundraising efforts of staff, strategic partners and clients, helping voluntary organisations locally and nationally. Headway Essex is one of the four main charities it supports.

Commenting on Headway, Helen Withers, Managing Director of Arc Legal, said: “Supporting such vital services for people in the region is a major element of what Arc Angels is all about. These trampolining sessions are an important part of Headway’s rehabilitation programme for people who suffer brain injury. Having seen the beneficial effects of the therapy for myself I am delighted that we are able to help.”

Mary Beverley, Fundraising Managerfor Headway Essex, said: “Trampolining provides brain injury sufferers with a chance to have time out of a wheelchair to exercise. It also helps with balance and concentration. However, although it is a recognised part of our therapeutic rehabilitation programme, it is hard to get funding to continue to offer this activity on a weekly basis. We are extremely grateful, to Arc Legal for their support.”

Headway Essex supports people with a brain injury and those who care for them, and it is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2010.

Arc Legal’s other main charities are Essex Air Ambulance, Help for Heroes and the Metropolitan & City Police Orphans Fund. The company also supports other voluntary organisations including Race for Life, Children in Needs and Barnardos Secret Santa appeal.
