FINANCE ASSISTANT/ADMINISTRATOR

Arc Legal Assistance is a specialist provider of legal expenses insurance and related services. Based in Colchester, we work with insurers, intermediaries, financial institutions and affinity groups, focusing upon delivering bespoke solutions providing 'best in market' legal advice and case handling.

Our business model for legal expenses insurance involves outsourcing legal advice and the legal conduct of claims to top quality law firms.

Purpose of the role

To provide support to the Finance department to meet internal and external demands.

Main Tasks

Claims:

  • Preparation reconciliations/MI weekly and monthly                                      
  • Accurate preparation and import of data to the Finance System                             

Premium:

  • Review new declarations for any discrepancies or errors and input accurately      
  • Query any incorrect/fluctuating declarations to the point of resolution
  • Raise and process invoices and credit notes where required                                
  • Preparation reconciliations/MI weekly and monthly
  • Chase clients outstanding declarations and/or payments                                    
  • Accurate preparation and import of data to the Finance System                          

General:

  • Provide assistance for other members of the finance team
  • Adhere to the company's financial policies and procedures
  • Answer questions and provide assistance to stakeholders, customers and clients as needed
  • Perform general clerical administration support including mail-outs, photocopying, scanning and filing
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual audit

Experience and Person Specification

Essential

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent organisational and time keeping skills
  • Confidence to own tasks without supervision
  • Experience of using all Microsoft Office programs
  • Good investigative and research skills

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a finance department
  • Strong reconciliation skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
  • AAT qualified
  • Knowledge of Legal Expenses
