CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Arc Legal Assistance is a leading provider of legal expenses insurance and other insurance ancillary products and services. Predominantly based in Colchester, we work with insurers, intermediaries, financial institutions and affinity groups, focusing upon delivering bespoke solutions providing 'best in market' service solutions.

Purpose of the role

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Development, the Corporate Development Manager will contribute to increasing our income position through effective sales development activity and the creation of cross-sale initiatives across our ancillary product range.

Main Tasks

Commercial Development

  • Lead generation activity to generate new business opportunities across the entirety of our product range
  • Identifying cross-sale opportunities across all product ranges, including; Legal Expenses, ATE, Accident & Health and Assistance Services. This will include working closely with the Corporate Relations team to support expansion of existing relationships
  • Engaging with appointed consultants to identify opportunities
  • Management of new business opportunities, including:
    • Attending client-facing sales meetings and presentations (remote where required)
    • Production of pricing terms for new opportunities using agreed pricing models, claims experiences and other relevant information available. This will vary by business class
    • Production of sales literature including quotation documents, tender documents and presentations where appropriate
    • Oversight of the implementation process and ensuring a smooth transition to be designated Corporate Manager / Executive

General

  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be set by the Head of Commercial Development and Directors:
    • Ensuring all duties are carried out in accordance with company procedures and FCA regulation
    • Ad-hoc project work

Key Interfaces

Internal

The role will include liaison with all departments in the company, however the majority of day-to-day interface will be with the Underwriting teams across all sites, the Corporate Relations team and directors & senior managers

External

  • Existing and perspective clients
  • Underwriters and suppliers
  • Other stakeholders, such as within AmTrust Group

Limits of Authority

The Head of Commercial Development (and directors and senior managers where applicable) will review and approve all activities where necessary.

All pricing is subject to sign off by the Underwriting team and underwriters where appropriate.

Department’s Objectives:

The purpose of the commercial development department is to maximise our new business revenue stream through effective promotion of our ancillary product range, to both new partners and expanding existing relationships.

  • Maximise sales opportunities through detailed and thorough lead generation and product cross sale initiatives
  • Achievement of agreed new business targets across all product lines
  • All activities must be carried out in line with internal governance framework, company policies & procedures and FCA regulations
  • All commercial development related materials produced to an exemplary and market leading standard, to reflect the business’ position in the Legal Expenses and ancillary products market
  • Pricing recommendations to be accurate to ensure that terms proposed are competitive yet sustainable and profitable for both Arc Legal and our underwriting partners
  • Contract set up process to be conducted within published processes at all times
  • Ensure we are offer market leading ancillary products by adopting a continuous improvement attitude to product development, both for our existing product range and potential new product offerings
  • Maintaining a positive brand reputation at all times
  • Organise own workload prioritising tasks and
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Liaise effectively with other departments to achieve the department’s objectives
