ARC LEGAL SELECTED TO OFFER FIRST ENHANCED LEGAL EXPENSES INSURANCE SCHEME FOR THE NORTHERN IRELAND POLICE FEDERATION

Arc Legal Assistance (Arc Legal) has expanded its specialist UK Police Federation legal expenses business, following its appointment to provide their first insurance-based legal expenses scheme for members of the Police Federation for Northern Ireland.

The Federation is now providing Arc Legal’s Police Officers Legal Assistance to 6500 of its members. The enhanced scheme provides specific cover to fund representation of members subject to allegations that fall outside of the normal course of duty as a police officer. The cover includes costs relating to criminal and civil legal defence, contractual disputes relating to goods and services, advice and representation at disciplinary hearings and pursuing personal injury claims.

The scheme is developed in partnership with George Burrows, part of the Arthur J Gallagher group, the leading provider of group and personal insurance to the police service, The Arc Legal policy, underwritten by AmTrust Europe Limited, is designed to complement the Federation’s current on duty protection and discretionary funded arrangements.
